Your adventure starts with a very early morning pickup from your accommodation. After a breakfast to fuel your trek, you’ll hike for about 2 to 3 hours through lush vegetation and rocky terrain. If travelling by jeep you'll begin your climb to the half way station. Along the way, enjoy panoramic views of the valleys and shimmering Mt Batur.
Reach the summit just in time for a stunning sunrise - a truly magical experience! After capturing unforgettable photos, we’ll guide you back down and drop-off at your accommodation, leaving you with cherished memories of your Bali adventure.

Whats Included
Welcome drink: Start your Mt Batur experience with a refreshing welcome drink.
Breakfast at the summit: Enjoy breakfast at the top of Mt Batur while taking in the sunrise views.
Professional trekking guide: An experienced local guide to lead you safely to the summit.
Head torch: Provided to safely navigate the early morning trek.
Pickup & drop-off options:
Complimentary pickup is included with the tour provider for guests staying in Ubud and surrounding areas. If you are staying outside these areas, a private Three Palms driver will arrange your pickup and drop-off.
Duration & Schedule
Total duration: Approximately 5–6 hours (depending on pickup location)
Early morning pickup:
Pickup begins around 2:00 AM, with transfers arranged from your accommodation.
Pre-trek breakfast stop:
You’ll be taken to enjoy your complimentary breakfast, along with tea and coffee, before heading to the base of Mt Batur.
Arrival at base camp:
At the base of the mountain, you’ll meet your professional trekking guide and be provided with a head torch for the early morning climb.
Sunrise trek:
The trek begins in the early hours of the morning. You’ll hike at your own pace, with regular water breaks along the way. The climb to the summit takes approximately 2 hours.
Summit & sunrise:
Arrive at the top just before sunrise to enjoy breathtaking views over Mt Batur. You’ll spend around 1 hour at the summit, enjoying the sunrise and a prepared breakfast.
Descent & return:
After sunrise, you’ll begin the hike back down the mountain. Once the trek is complete, you’ll be transferred back to your accommodation.
What To Bring
Backpack or hiking pack:
A small backpack to carry your personal items, extra clothing, and essentials during the trek.
Reusable water bottle:
Stay hydrated throughout the hike.
Camera or phone:
To capture the incredible sunrise views and scenic landscapes.
Spending money for tips:
Tipping is optional but greatly appreciated. Your local trekking guides complete this hike 5–6 times per week and work incredibly hard to make your experience safe and memorable.
What To Wear
Warm layers:
Temperatures at the summit can be quite cold, especially while waiting for sunrise. We recommend wearing light layers that can be easily removed as the day warms up.
Comfortable activewear:
Breathable and flexible clothing suitable for hiking is recommended.
Proper walking or hiking shoes:
Closed-toe shoes with good grip are essential due to uneven and sometimes slippery terrain.
Recommended Items
Light jacket or jumper:
Helpful for the cooler mountain temperatures.
Change of clothes:
You may want fresh clothes after completing the trek.
Sunscreen:
Protection is recommended once the sun rises.
Hat and sunglasses:
Useful for sun protection during the descent.
Personal snacks:
Optional if you prefer extra energy during the hike.

This trek is suitable for guests with a moderate level of fitness. No technical climbing experience is required, and the hike is completed at a comfortable pace with regular rest breaks.
Early start time:
This is an early morning experience with pickup starting around 2:00 AM to ensure you reach the summit in time for sunrise.
Weather conditions:
Weather on Mt Batur can change quickly. Sunrise views are weather dependent, and temperatures at the summit can be cool.
